Hello! Thank you for stopping by The Flashpacker.
I’m Bridget Coleman, the founder of The Flashpacker, which is an award-winning website dedicated to helping you travel smarter, safer and solo in affordable luxury.
My website is for you if you are:
- A midlife solo traveller looking for expert tips on travelling alone
- A traveller who is searching for inspiration and destination guides based on first-hand knowledge
- Someone who is looking to travel better for less
Who am I?
I’m a London-based full-time travel blogger who is also a qualified pharmacist and has a PhD in Health Informatics. Unlike most female solo travel bloggers out there, I’m well past my 20s and 30s.
But what I have lost in youth, I make up for in experience.
At 19, I had my first travel misadventure, camping with a friend in the south of France, where an enormous storm demolished our tent. Since then, I have explored many corners of our planet, swapping cockroach-ridden hostels for boutique hotels. No further tents were harmed during these adventures.
I am at peace walking barefoot across a soft sandy beach or gazing at snow-capped mountains. I’m an outgoing introvert, a procrastinator-perfectionist and I cry at soppy movies. I am a complete cinephile, self-confessed Trekkie – the Original Series is the best, obviously! – and a weakness for Lindor chocolates.
How I can help you to travel better
At The Flashpacker, I share my travel experiences, both triumphs and mistakes, and give you practical tips to help you make your travel dreams a reality.
We’re talking about mostly solo adventures on a midrange budget, with the odd splurge on luxury hotels, business class flights and cruises. No backpacking tales of travelling on $50 a day here! There are budget travel bloggers out there who will tell you about that far better than I.
Being a London lass, I make no apology for including a sprinkling of tales from my much-loved home city 🙂
Want to know more?
That’s easy.
Sit back in a chair, make yourself a cup of tea – or a glass of something stronger – and have a peek at my site. My aim is to inspire and inform and I hope you enjoy the website as much as I enjoy creating it.
Finally, feel free to contact me at any time for questions or just to chat! I love to hear from you; simply email me at hello@theflashpacker.net
Happy travels!
